GVB built Spectrum's regional network, team, and operation from the ground up across Middle East and Africa, and ran it for more than four years.
Spectrum had strong analytical instruments and real demand across the Middle East and Africa, but no way to reach it. There was no distributor network, no regional presence, and no structured route to market. Building a sustainable business across such a diverse region called for experienced local leadership and a clear commercial strategy from day one.
GVB became Spectrum's presence in the region and built its business from the ground up. We developed the go-to-market strategy, recruited and appointed distributor partners, and built a distribution network covering 18 countries. We trained more than 30 sales professionals and 18 service engineers through structured sales, application, and service programs, and kept a direct feedback loop with distributors and customers to guide where the network needed the most support. As Spectrum grew its portfolio, GVB successfully launched four major product lines, including UV-Visible Spectrophotometers, Atomic Absorption Spectrometers, and an OEM Microwave Digestion System. These technologies were introduced across testing laboratories, universities, mining, environmental, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and clinical laboratories throughout the Middle East and Africa. GVB then ran the operation directly for more than four years, not a plan handed over, but a regional business owned and managed day to day.
What began as no presence at all became a well-established commercial operation across the Middle East and Africa, strong enough that PerkinElmer acquired the business. The regional operation GVB built became the foundation for Spectrum's continued growth after the acquisition.
If your products belong in more markets and you need a team that builds the way in, not just advises on it, let's talk.
